Jade Caines Lee

Jade Caines Lee, Ph.D. is the Founder and President of JCRG USA Inc., an educational
consulting firm which has assisted clients with educational research, measurement, and
evaluation needs for over a decade. She has been a career educator, teaching P-12,
undergraduate, graduate students and life-long learners for over 25 years. She has presented and published in the areas of validity, classroom assessment, evaluation research, and fairness issues in the educational measurement field, as well in the areas of evaluation and intervention research that aims to improve teaching and learning for marginalized people.

Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree in Urban Education from Stanford University, her
master’s degree in Teaching Secondary English Grades 7-12 from Brooklyn College, and her
doctoral degree in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from Emory University.
She was an Institute of Education Sciences’ postdoctoral fellow at the University of
Pennsylvania and spent almost 10 years as a K-12 public school teacher in New York City and in metro-Atlanta, GA. For fun, she enjoys spending time with her 3 energetic kids where playing
puzzles, having at-home dance parties, and snuggling are always go-to activities.

Kyndra Middleton

Kyndra V. Middleton, PhD, is Professor of Educational Psychology and Chair of the Department of Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies at Howard University. She also serves as Interim Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment. She also teaches graduate-level courses in statistics and measurement and serves as the primary methodologist on dissertations for the Howard University School of Education. Her scholarship focuses on educational measurement, culturally responsive assessment, and issues of validity, equity, and fairness in testing. She is particularly interested in expanding opportunities in STEM and increasing the participation of underrepresented students in these fields.

In addition to her research, Kyndra contributes to the field of educational measurement through national leadership and professional service, having served on the Board of Directors of the National Council on Measurement in Education, Executive Council of the National Math Alliance, and as an Associate Editor for Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice. Kyndra earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa and her B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).

Maria Elena Oliveri

Maria Elena Oliveri received her Ph.D. degree in measurement, evaluation, and research methodology from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 2012. She also received a M.A. degree in measurement, evaluation, and research methodology (2007), an M.Ed. degree in clinical counselling psychology (2003), a B.Ed. degree in education with a specialization in second language learning (1997), and a B.A. degree in psychology (1996) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Her major field of study was educational measurement and assessment.

She is currently a Research Associate Professor with the College of Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. She previously served as an Associate Director and Research Associate Professor with the Buros Center for Testing, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and as a Research Scientist with Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, NJ, USA. Her research focuses on technology-enhanced and performance-based assessment, evidence-centered design, and culturally responsive assessment for education and workforce development.

Dr. Oliveri is a Council Member of the International Test Commission and serves as the Chair of the ITC Publications Committee. She is also an Advisory Board Member for several journals, including Applied Measurement in Education, the Journal of Educational Measurement, and the International Journal of Testing.
